Teens + Chats = Match Made In Heaven

We're working on the summer chat schedule and want to hear from you.  There are several ways you can be part of the chats:

Mystery Chats....Come Get Into Character

How well do you really know Bella? Harry? Percy? Think you could impersonate Alice in Wonderland?  Anne of Green Gables?  Wolverine?

This summer, TeenRC invites you to “get into character” (that's the theme for the new site, launching in May 2010).  If you know a book character inside out, you could be our mystery guest on one of our mystery character chats.  Here’s how it works:  you host an online chat in character without telling who you are. Everyone gets to pose questions to you in the chat to try to guess who you are. If you suddenly said “Bella, don’t do anything reckless” or “Locomotor Mortis!” those would be pretty good clues.  Once everyone has guessed who you are, you get to keep chatting in character. FUN.

If you would like to be a mystery character chat guest this summer, please contact the TeenRC admins by email at info@teenrc.ca by May 1, with the following information:

1.    Your real name
2.    The character you’d like to play
3.    How well you know that character and why

 

Author Suggestions...Who would you love to chat with?

Let us know who your favourite authors are and we’ll invite them to an online TRC chat.
Better yet – you can invite them yourself!  See the Inviting Authors to TeenRC Chats page for how to do it.  Either way, let us know who you’d like to chat with. We’re collecting names until March 31, email info@teenrc.ca.
  

Wonder why you can't access the chatroom?  Chats are only active when we turn them on for special events. There is no way to chat with fellow teens. The best way to connect with people is to post to the forums (but please don't share your personal information -- we're trying to keep you safe online!).

About Time Zones

By default this calendar displays chats in Pacific time.

Chat times will be in your local time zones if you set your account up properly. To do so, click on "My account & lists" > click on the "edit" tab > scroll down to "Locale settings" and select your time zone from the list > save! Now, whenever you want to know when the chat will be, sign into your account and check out this calendar!
