And in this corner!...introducing the combatants and first impressions.

Have you checked out the Book Battle Royale contestants yet? You'll see that we have set up forums for each of the titles so that you can weigh in and tell us what you think of each title by responding to this forum post.

  • What have you read already?
  • Which book are you starting with?
  • Before it begins, who do you think will win?

Read about each of the titles, see what the other teens have to say about these books, and then be sure to vote on the poll above. Please pick the two books you want to see *leave* the competition. Only vote once, but you can change your mind if you decide to change your vote. It doesn't *really* matter if you've already read the books yet or not -- just tell us what you think based on the summaries that we gave!

You have until August 1 to vote. Be sure to stay tuned for the next part of the Book Battle Royale.

Coming next week: The Battle Gets into Character…

Well, in case any of you are wondering --and I'm sure you're *dying* to know what Leah_The_Admin has and hasn't read from the Book Battle Royale Booklist -- I've already read Sister Wife by Shelley Hrdlitschka (...and I liked it a lot, though I do agree with what some of you said about the ending in your reviews for this title...) and I'm just about to start Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston, who will be on TeenRC for a chat on August 7th. I have it on good authority (okay, okay, it was another librarian!) that The Manny Files is super funny, so I can't wait to read that one!!

My goal is to read all 10 novels on the list before the end of the Book Battle Royale...and I think I can do it! I've placed holds at my library already....have you?? 8-)

I have read Sister Wife too! It was great, but a little too quick and patched up at the end. Maybe they should have given us more about what life was like for Celeste. Read Dancing Naked, also by that author!

I think the only one I'v read is Shiver which I loved so much. I can't wait for the third and final book to come out. I also have not read Wondrously Strange but the fact that it was so close to winning makes me want to read it, so I'm going to get that and read it. I've never heard of Sister Wife but now I want to read that too. I don't think the last question counts though. I would have bet Shiver won from the start though because it really is a fantastic book.

I've noticed i haven't answered for Week 1 so better do it now before 12 o'clock. So far I've only read Wondrous Strange, but I'm planning to read at least three more...

"Let's eat, Grandma!"
