This book relates to social differences: the Keylanders have all the rain, the wealth and the guns, while the Droughtlanders are poor and many suffer from the skineater sickness. The one thing they do have is numbers and somewhere out there, it is said that a fortress exists - Triskelia, the organization of rebels which will pull down the Keylanders and fight for a world when everyone is equal. Soon. Eli is trying to find this place, to which his mother belonged - a task which some say is impossible. Seth is looking for Eli - to kill him and bring his carcass back to his father. But all is not as it seems.
I loved this book! Carrie Mac did an astonishing job! It keeps you hooked - next week, I'm getting the sequel; The Keylanders. Its just that good! Its pretty long too, but thats something I enjoy in a book. You'll find yourself rooting for Eli, trying to figure out who Trace is and what he wants and in what phsycological state is Seth in to try to kill his brother? Read the book, you won't regret it :D
